This painting is made from a reference photo of a flood in the rural Maritimes. The painting's marks are very deliberate and planned resulting in a crisp image. Within the grid shown, one section was painted at a time at random and separate colours were mixed for the same purpose but by using the right tone it functions correctly and results in greater visual interest.
