Tylor McNeil, Still Enough to Hear
Still Enough to Hear emerged organically as this body of work unfolded. I began with the intention of creating something bright — a visual expression of hope and joy, a counterpoint to the heaviness so present in the world today. But as the paintings developed, they surprised me. The palette softened into pastel blues, silvery purples, and gentle greys. The tone shifted toward quiet reflection. Instead of resisting that change, I chose to listen.
What I discovered, and what I hope these works reflect, is that grace often arrives quietly. It’s the soft light through fog, or a bloom opening slowly, almost unnoticed. This series is about finding stillness in the swirl, and the strength it takes to remain tender when things feel uncertain.
My intention is not to leave viewers with a sense of weight, but rather with calm — a pause, a breath. A reminder that beauty can be found even when answers are not clear, and that uncertainty does not equal absence. It can be a space where something new, even something good, is quietly forming.
