Madeleine Putnam was born in the year 2000. She grew up in Kjipuktuk, a city in Mi'kmaq territory also known as Halifax.
She has been creating since the start of her life, making use of traditional and scavenged materials to draw, paint, weave, and sculpt.
Following this path, she graduated from NSCAD University in 2022 with an interdisciplinary BFA.
Madeleine paints mundane scenes with an eye towards the strange, hidden forces that bring them to be.
She finds her subjects in memory, where time and space flatten together. She hopes that those who
share their space with her pictures can see through them into their own dreams.
