Marcus Kingston was born in the small town of Harvey Station New Brunswick where he quickly found a love for art and historic architecture. This passion helped him to receive his BFA from Mount Allison University in 2006. From there he began exhibiting his work at local galleries, where his pieces focused on historical preservation and a general appreciation for architectural design. He received his education degree from the University of New Brunswick in 2010 and has been working in the private and public education systems ever since. Marcus practices in numerous mediums such as photography, installation and painting with his main focus being pen and ink illustration. His advocacy for historic structures has helped to bring awareness to the fragility of our built heritage. He feels a need to protect and bring awareness to the architectural legacy left by past generations. His work has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the Maritimes and a collection of his work even resides in Biarritz, France. He now calls Nova Scotia his home where he feels inspired by the plethora of historical
sites that still stand, and those which may be lost forever.
