A crab apple could grow no wider beside the house where I grew up.
Independence, and practiced imagination happened here
Steeped in sunset petal stained skin, the choir of pinks,
Flickering lights and darks – smells unique-
The joy of birdsong so near.
Mesmerizing combinations found in a perch on Simcoe St.
I am held in a time in a place, this tree a secret cathedral. -SI

Couldn’t sleep, couldn’t think
So she drank from the drink the lake had provided
Beyond dreams she would sink and when right on the brink
The glow of the tree would wake her

Cedar by the Lake
Leaning precarious by the side of this lake I am an element to its familiar changes.
A part of cycles and memories I am; part of those that have grown with me here.
Nearly centennial I am reflected by my future.
When I lose my edge, fall, and sink,
Again I will be an element to the lake. -SI

Bloom radiant bloom slow
Without fleeting or pallid feeling
Forever may your flowers glow.
This wonder and amusement,
The windows to your soul,
Are at their peak when remembered
That it is the fruit which is the goal. -SI
You and I

With all the birds wind sun flowers rain sleet junk visitors and tides
We will grow this way until we die,
Together you and I. -SI
